This course provides comprehensive insight into the key ethical issues executives have to deal with in today's private sector and public organizations. An examination of the meaning of ethics and its implication for managers is supported by an analysis of the relevance of values and embedding critical values into the organization. In addition, we will discuss the ethical dilemmas managers face. Following this, the ethical competencies that managers need to develop in order to effectively work through ethical dilemmas are highlighted.
The course concludes with an exploration of current and future trends in the area of corporate social responsibility as well as the ethical challenges of the corporate environment.
This course will apply a variety of different teaching methods such as lectures, case study analyses and discussions. Active participation throughout the course is expected as an individual effort so that class discussions serve as meaningful interactions between participants and lecturer.
