Welcome to the first issue of the Mannheim Business School e-Newsletter for 2011. Below we offer you an overview of the latest news from Mannheim Business School.

1. MBS Annual Review
We are pleased to announce that this year's annual review has been published and distributed to all participants, alumni, corporate partners and friends of Mannheim Business School. The report presents an overview of key milestones the MBS has achieved in the past year.

2. Mannheim Business Forum - February 18, 2011
The next talk in our Mannheim Business Forum conference will take place on Friday, February 18, 2011, 7-9 pm. Patrick D. Cowden, Vice President & General Manager Germany, Hitachi Data Systems GmbH, will share with the audience his views on "Intelligent Leadership: How failures lead to sustainable success". Via a business case, Cowden will show how employees and organizations can achieve more sustainable success by experiencing failure at the beginning of a transformation.
 
The event will take place at the MBS Lecture Hall at Mannheim Castle, starting at 7 pm. Current students please register under iConn/events. 3. Launch of New MBS Website
Check out our recently relaunched Mannheim Business School website at http://www.mannheim-business-school.com/! The new site incorporates a number of significant improvements such as a clearer, more user-friendly navigation and a fresh look and feel. Moreover, the new program finder will help prospective students to find the program that best suits their needs. The website furthermore provides detailed information on our programs as well as the latest news and upcoming events.

1. Start MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA Program
On March 9th, the new MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA program will be officially launched with an opening ceremony in Shanghai. This Sino-German EMBA program is the result of Mannheim Business School's partnership with renowned TONGJI University, Shanghai. The aim of the program is to provide participants with in-depth insight into different aspects of the corporate world and to enhance their knowledge of global, especially Asian and European business. Course modules will take place in Mannheim and Shanghai. Participants can complete their Executive MBA degree within one and a half years or over an extended period of time of up to five years, allowing executives maximum flexibility in integrating their studies into their life and career plans. There will also be an open-enrollment option available for individuals who wish to participate in selected courses or modules only.
 
Due to the highly flexible design of the program, it is possible to start the Executive MBA with each one of the modules. We therefore operate on a rolling admissions basis and accept applications throughout the entire year. 2. Mannheim Master of Accounting & Taxation: Outstanding Exam Results
In October 2010, the first cohort of the Mannheim Master of Accounting & Taxation graduated. We are now proud to announce that 82 % of the Accounting track graduates successfully passed their professional exam in the first sitting, another 11 % will have the chance to sit a make-up exam in early spring. With an average national pass rate of approx. 60 %, these are outstanding results, bearing testimony to the capabilities of our participants as well as to the success of the program's concept and curriculum. Results for the graduates of the Taxation track are forthcoming.

The Mannheim Master of Accounting & Taxation aims to provide young professionals in the fields of accounting and taxation with the theoretical basis as well as the practical skills necessary to successfully meet the demands of their business.
Consequently, one of the program's key characteristics is the close and multi-leveled collaboration not only with the so-called "Big Four", but with other companies and institutions as well. 3. Info Session ESSEC & MANNHEIM EMBA, February 26, 2011
Individuals interested in applying for the next ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA class (weekend format), which will start in April of 2011, mark your calendar: the last information session for this program will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Mannheim. Please note that the application deadline for the ESSEC & MANNHEIM EMBA Weekend Track is approaching, applications will be accepted until end of February. Recruitment for the upcoming ESSEC & MANNHEIM EMBA Modular Class, starting in October of this year, will begin in April. Dates for monthly information sessions and selection interviews focused on this program will be published on our websites.

4. Upcoming Open Enrollment Programs: Sales Excellence
Mannheim Business School aims to provide outstanding learning and development opportunities for executives at all career levels and across all sectors. One of the upcoming highlights in 2011 is Professor Homburg's course on "Sales Excellence" which will take place March 24-26. The program provides a guide for systematic sales management and helps executives and sales professionals to further develop their sales management skills and to excel in sales performance.
