The history of BI Norwegian School of Management tells something about the character of the school. BI was founded in 1943 as a consultancy that offered evening classes in accounting. Since then the business school has grown into a fully-fledged, internationally recognized academic institution in the area of business and management.
BI is Norway's second largest institution for education and research. During the last 25 years BI has educated more than 200,000 candidates within business administration and management. BI has one of Norway's leading academic environments within the core areas of financial economics, strategic management, marketing, leadership and organization, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
BI offers 17 different bachelor programs, MBA studies, eight master's studies and five doctoral programs, extensive continuing and further education, internet studies, tailor-made in-house programs and management programs.
Over 80 of Norway's major enterprises within industry, trade and services are linked with BI Norwegian School of Management through various co-operation agreements. The BI faculty holds degrees from American elite universities such as Wharton, Yale, M.I.T., Harvard, Case Western and Stanford and from many European schools such as INSEAD and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
