To give children treated at the children's clinic of the University Hospital Mannheim the possibility to participate in a fun, educational, and relaxing activity, to let them forget, if only for a moment, the reason for their stay – that was the intention behind the social project organized by four students of the Mannheim MBA class of 2009, Lowell Tejada (USA), Cecilia Fernandez de Cordoba (Ecuador), Maike Kuhn (Germany), Anshuman Dwivedi (Indien).

In cooperation with artists Krystof Marchewicz, Gudrun Schön-Stoll and Joachim Bopp, they organized a six-day art class at the children's clinic of the University Hospital Mannheim, giving the small patients treated there the chance to draw and paint to their hearts' content.
The result: not only very happy faces, but wonderful works of art as well.

In order to share the results of the project with the public and to raise money for other, similar projects at the children's clinic of the University Hospital Mannheim, the paintings and drawings are on exhibit for sale from June 11 until June 14, 2009, at the catacombs of Mannheim Castle. Opening hours are:

  • June 11: 5 - 9 pm
  • June 12: 4 - 8 pm
  • June 13: 4 - 8 pm
  • June 14: 2 - 6 pm
