Demonstrate Your Potential to Succeed!

To document and keep track of your progress, you will undergo academic assessment throughout the program. This takes the form of class tests, group work, individual projects, presentations and oral exams.

During the first year of your studies, you will mostly be tested by means of written exams. In addition to the course-specific exams, you will sit two multidisciplinary exams in business law and in applied business studies and economics. Passing these exams is a prerequisite if you want to be exempt from the corresponding exams of the Wirtschaftsprüferexamen (German public auditor exam) according to §8a WPO.

During your second year of studies, the focus will be more on praxis-related case studies and your academic assessment will mainly take the form of individual or group projects.

Additionally, the program includes the following key components:

  • Term papers
As part of your specialization within your chosen track, you will produce an academic term paper covering a topic with direct relevance to practice. This paper is a group effort and you will present your findings as a group at a plenary session and will be graded as a group as well.
  • Master Thesis
During the second year of your studies, you will have to demonstrate what you have already learned in the course of the program: Again, you will get together in a group and will jointly define a topic that you wish to address in your Master Thesis. Supported by representatives from your field of business as well as academic advisors, you will apply your entire know-how to a practical issue using a scholarly approach. You will present and defend your Master thesis before an examination board consisting of professors, representatives from the field as well as alumni.
