Despite EU-wide tax harmonization, enterprises operating within and across European borders are often confronted with heterogeneous business taxation.
In this program you will learn how enterprises have to adapt their organization, finances and distribution channels to the range of tax conditions in the Member States, and should aim to optimize their tax situation by taking into account all company objectives.
Please note: this course, referred to as an "Open MBA program" is also open to participants of our world-renowned full-time MBA program.

Program Outline
This intensive 5-day open MBA program on European Taxation focuses on the following: - Guidelines on taxation of individuals and corporations in the European Community
- Basic principles of the dual system of taxation, the taxation of corporations and their shareholders and the taxation of partnerships
- Impact of different corporation tax systems on financial decisions
- Guiding principles of international taxation regarding inbound and outbound investments
- Introduction to tax planning strategies for cross-border investments based on various case studies (e.g. choice of legal entity, cross-border financing, and implementation of holding companies)

Learning and Teaching Methods
The program consists of lectures held by Prof. Spengel, case studies presented by two guest speakers as well as various exercises that will have to be prepared by the participants before the program and in groups during class. The program includes an examination. |
