Study at a top-ranked business school in Germany and enjoy high-class education in one of Europe's largest baroque palaces. Meet people from all over the world and increase your professional network through discussions with experienced practitioners when visiting high-caliber companies. Enrich your global perspective and become acquainted with the region's vibrant culture and rich history while enjoying your life at a great place to live and work in just one to three weeks.
Our MBS Summer School program includes three major aspects - campus, companies, and culture. Enjoy world-class education in our renowned business school, gain real-world experience when visiting the headquarters of successful companies in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, and enrich your global perspective by visiting world-famous sights.
Discover what studying at Germany's leading business school is all about. The Business School of the University of Mannheim is one of the most renowned business schools in Europe. We consistently hold top positions in national rankings and are one of only few German institutions to hold all three major international accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA).
Meet business experts and learn what it really means when academia meets practice during company visits and expert discussions. The Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region is one of the most important economic centers in the European market. 50% of Germany's top 500 companies, such as BASF, SAP, Lufthansa and Daimler, are based within a 150 km radius of Mannheim.
During our cultural activities, you will get the chance to try the local specialties of the Palatinate vineyards or explore Heidelberg with its impressive castle and its unique historic center. Visit Hambach Castle, the cradle of German democracy, Speyer with its UNESCO World Heritage cathedral or the medieval villages along the German wine road.
Jin Wang, University of Sheffield
“This is the summer school you must attend if you want to run your own business! The lectures are very professional and geared for entrepreneurship. The cultural activities and company visits were quite interesting as we could explore the surrounding cities and gain insights into German culture and start-ups, as well as the manufacturing industry.”
In addition to the theoretical concepts of the lectures, I particularly enjoyed the brainstorming sessions. The lecturer’s guidance led our team to agreement within a limited period of time. And the final idea we developed was innovative.
Matthew Peter Bassett, National University of Singapore

“The Mannheim Summer School 2019 on Big Data was a perfect opportunity for me to get an overview of this current topic and learn how data analysis and machine learning techniques can be used in business and social enterprise.”
The course offered an ideal balance of quantitative and qualitative subjects, making it particularly attractive to business students. I enjoyed the chance to meet people from all over the world with diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds, allowing me to make many valuable additions to my network.
The company visits and cultural program were extremely interesting too: We visited BASF and SAP, toured Mannheim and Heidelberg, and indulged in some local wine tasting, which was a lot of fun! I am very grateful to the organization team who ensured that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly, and were ready to help at all times.

“The Entrepreneurship Module in Mannheim was a truly great experience. The international group of students, rich and interesting content of the lectures, as well as the fantastic catering and activities organized by the course facilitators made the course very worthwhile.”
At the end of the day, the course is very much what you make of it. If you commit to spending time with the people involved and go the extra mile to build friendships, ask questions, and get involved, your time at Mannheim will be extremely valuable. Ten out of ten! I would do it all over again.

In this course, we will examine whether Germany is still the Green leader it once was hyped up to be. We will talk about the traditional German environmental awareness and dive deep into specific German ways of putting it into practice in order to meet the accepted target corridor of the Paris agreement. By doing so, you will gain insights into different aspects of the German economy in terms of sustainability and how it affects society, different players and people’s everyday lives. Moreover, we will have to raise questions on a personal level concerning our individual consumption patterns and our ecological footprint.
