Please note that these online consultations will take place during our usual office hours on weekdays. These consultations do not start an application process and do not replace the selection interview.
Scholarships
For the Mannheim Master of Applied Data Science & Measurement, we offer two types of scholarships.
The MBS Scholarship
- The MBS Scholarship is open to all employees of statistical institutes and organizations as well as NGOs worldwide.
- The scholarship will cover 55% of the tuition fee, participants will pay a tuition fee of EUR 9,900.
- In order to benefit from this scholarship, you only need to add a confirmation by your employer to your application package.
The Scholarship for Excellent Academics
- This scholarship is available for two successful applicants per year, who can prove a track record of outstanding academic achievements.
- The scholarship will cover 80% of the tuition fee, participants will pay a tuition fee of EUR 4,400.
- In order to become eligible for this scholarship, please get in touch with the Admissions Manager to learn about the requirements.
The current course fee is € 22,500.
Admission Criteria
- First degree (at least a bachelor’s degree)
- Proven skills in statistics
- A valid employment contract
- First work experience in a position involved with data generation, collection, or analysis
- Fluency in English (TOEFL score of at least 85 or equivalent)

Self-Presentation
Please present yourself in a five-minute video or a PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 10 slides, answering the
questions:- Why do you think data is so important in today’s business world?
- Which challenges do you want to address with the help of the knowledge and skills gathered in this master's program?
Letter of Motivation
The letter of motivation forms an important part of the admissions committee's evaluation of your application. Please explain your priorities in the three tracks. The committee uses the essay to measure your experience and interest in various components of survey and data science.

Identify the components you have experienced and describe the nature of that experience. Describe how you hope the master's program will advance your training. The committee prefers essays that are no more than two typewritten pages (12 point font). Please highlight elements that can't be found in the CV.
English Language Proficiency
Proof of appropriate English language skills can be provided by the following tests:
a) TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 85.
b) IELTS (International English Language Testing System – Academic Test) with a minimum of 6.5.
c) Certificate of Advanced English with at least level B2.
d) A successfully completed course of study, which was essentially based on English as the language of instruction and examination.
The results must not be more than five years old at the time of the closing date for applications.
Technical Requirements for Program Participation
The learning experience in this course will mainly rely on the online interaction between students and the instructor during the weekly online meetings. Therefore, we encourage all students in this course to use a web camera and a headset. We recommend that students use a high speed internet connection (LAN), if available, when connecting to the online meetings. Wireless connections (WLAN) are usually less stable and might be dropped. We will use Canvas, a learning management system, for our online courses.
Tuition Fees and Payment Plan
The current course fee is € 22,500.
Please note the current fee installment plan. 10 equal installments of EUR 2,250 (two thousand, two hundred and fifty), due on the following dates:
