The Morpheus Cup, which was introduced in the context of ICT Spring, a global tech conference, is under the patronage of Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, and Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation. Its goal is to bring young European talent in contact with the corporate world.
A total of 200 students from 16 countries competed in several categories. They were charged with developing innovative solutions for various entrepreneurial challenges, for example, coming up with a concept for the careers website of a major life insurance company. Other competitions were concerned with cybersecurity, design, business, gamification, and engineering.
