In his welcome speech, Professor Dr. Jens Wüstemann, President of Mannheim Business School, expressed his congratulations to the newly-minted alumni. “Let me encourage you to remain open for new experiences, stay as courageous and high-flying as we have come to know you and keep up the class spirit that you have fostered during the program.”
The keynote speech of the graduation ceremony was given by Dr. Renata Jovanovic, Director at Ernst & Young. Dr. Jovanovic, herself a graduate of the ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA Class of 2013, highlighted that in order to succeed in today’s fast changing business world, executives have to step out of their comfort zones.
In his speech, Professor Wüstemann also appreciated the important contribution of Professor Felix Papier to the development of the two schools’ joint Executive MBA program, who after three years has now left his position as Academic Director. During Professor Papier’s time as Academic Director, the teams of both schools had successfully implemented the program’s reorientation.
With the inception of the ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA in 2004, two of Europe’s leading business schools – ESSEC Business School and Mannheim Business School – joined forces to create a program that is European in tradition but international in outlook. Since then, the partner schools have widened the program’s international scope by integrating an Asia-Pacific track in 2014, delivered from ESSEC’s Singapore campus. Today, the program boasts of more than 1,500 alumni around the globe, successfully leading top international companies.
