Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Crowdfunding

Module 1

June 24 – 28, 2024

Rapid technological change and digitization have led to the importance of highly innovative ventures for maintaining competitive advantage and economic growth. Moreover, these rapid changes have given rise to new alternative forms of venture finance. This implies that both startups and established firms need to entrepreneurially adapt their businesses and manage innovation processes. Light is also shed on digital forms of resourcing, especially crowdfunding and crowd-interaction, competitive positioning and advantage in entrepreneurial firms as well as strategic dimensions of recent developments in the market such as digitalization and their implications for new ventures, family firms, and business models.

Artificial Intelligence in Business

Module 2

July 01 – 05, 2024

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging as the most important and transformative digital technology of our time. Recent advances (e.g., Large Language Models) have led to a rapid proliferation of new approaches that are changing the competitive landscape for companies in almost all industries. Hence, it is important for future managers to understand this technology. They understand the different types of machine learning as fundamental concepts of AI (e.g., deep learning, neural networks). They are able to develop strategies to leverage AI for value creation in business settings and apply related tools and techniques. Students are aware of the limitations, pitfalls and potential countermeasures when using AI.

Designing Data-Driven Business Models

Module 3

July 08 – 12, 2024

Despite an enormous amount of business-relevant data generated every day, many managers and top executives still rely on conventional wisdom or intuition to guide their decisions. In this course, participants will learn key principles of business analytics and recent technological developments that allows them to understand how to turn data into insights, better decisions, and enhanced corporate value. Participants will learn techniques they need to transform an organization into a data-driven organization and apply their knowledge by developing a suitable data-driven business model for a specific company.

    Prices are per person and include value-added tax.

    If we do have to cancel any module due to a lack of participants, Mannheim Business School will reimburse the complete participation fee. Mannheim Business School will not be held responsible for any other financial damage caused for a participant by a cancellation.
