Admission Criteria
In the Mannheim Executive MBA, participants have a lot in common with each other: They have already achieved success in their careers, they are highly motivated and dedicated to their work, they enjoy learning new things and developing both personally and professionally, and look forward to doing so with other participants.
The formal criteria at a glance:
- A first academic degree
- At least 8 years of postgraduate work experience
- Significant professional experience, including disciplinary and/or budgetary responsibilities
- Experience in an international work environment
- Excellent command of the English language (TOEFL with a minimum score of 95, IELTS with a minimum score of 7.0, or equivalent)
- The motivation to invest a substantial amount of time and effort into our highly challenging but also very rewarding Executive MBA program
Admissions Process
Step 1: First Contact
If you meet the admissions criteria for the Mannheim Executive MBA program, please contact us either in person or via phone or e-mail. Discuss your professional objectives with our admissions team and receive a first feedback regarding a potential application.
Step 2: Open Day or Information Session
We invite you to one of our Open Days or Information Sessions in Mannheim which are designed to help interested professionals get a very detailed idea of what it means to pursue an Executive MBA at Mannheim Business School.
Step 3: Submission of application documents
Once the admissions team has indicated you should hand in your application, you may apply.
Download and fill out the application form.
As part of the application, you will be asked to supply the following documents
- two letters of reference (professional evaluations)
- four typed personal essays (the essay topics can be found as item 11 in the application form)
- copies of all previous degree(s), transcripts and diplomas
- recent TOEFL scores (at least 95, no older than two years)
- a digital color passport-sized photo
A non-refundable application fee of € 150 must accompany your application.
Step 4: Screening of application
After your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, who will then invite selected candidates for an interview in Mannheim.
Step 5: Selection Interview
This interview gives us the opportunity to find out more about you and to answer any questions that you might still have.
Step 6: Admission decision
Within approximately one week after your selection interview, you will receive notification of whether or not you have been admitted into the program.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fee for the Mannheim Executive MBA program is € 53,000.
Fees cover tuition, required books and other materials as well as accommodations during study trips. Airfare is not included. Participants and/or their companies are billed in installments in the course of program.
A non-refundable application fee of € 150 must accompany your application.
Early-Bird Discount
Early applicants can score a good deal even before starting: Applicants who have completed the application process by the end of the preceding year (i.e. December 31, 2022 for the 2023 intake), will receive an early-bird discount of € 4,500 on the tuition fees.
Scholarships
Mannheim Business School offers a number of partial scholarships to outstanding candidates. Improve your chances by sending us your application as early as possible.
We will be pleased to advise you personally. Application on a separate form is required. In order to apply for one of the exclusive scholarships, please contact our Admissions Manager for the Executive MBA Programs, Nilgün Vatansever. She will send you the scholarship application form.
Below are the criteria for the MBS scholarships:
Scholarship for Sustainable Businesses
This scholarship is meant for excellent candidates from businesses or startups that are making environmental and social sustainability the cornerstones of their business model. If you can convince us of your professional and personal accomplishments and the positive impact they had on society or the environment, you can apply for this scholarship. It will cover up to 50% of the tuition fee.
Scholarship for Outstanding Candidates
- At least 10 years of postgradual work experience
- At least 5 years of leadership/management experience
- At least a position as team leader or project manager with subordinates
- A broad international exposure (>24 months stay abroad, family background/native english-speaking, international work environment)
- 100% self-funded, i.e. will not receive any financial support from employer
Scholarship for Women in Business
This scholarship underlines Mannheim Business School's dedication to increase the number of women in executive positions. Women who can prove a track record of outstanding achievements in their professional lives or in respect of their social commitments can apply for this scholarship.
